Staff

Montessori teachers are trained to recognise when children are passing through periods during which they are particularly sensitive to mastering a new skill. If these skills are taught at the right time the child will soak up the information like a sponge and learning is a real joy. If this period is missed, learning becomes much more of a chore. Therefore the teacher’s intuitive sensitivity to the children combined with her knowledge of the Montessori equipment enables her to fulfil all the child’s needs.

At Maidford, the staff are trained in the theory and practice of Montessori teaching, either by a professional body or in-house training. The staff are constantly attending training sessions to keep up to date with current practice and ideas. Our teachers have been chosen for their sensitive and caring natures and their all important sense of humour. We pride ourselves on having a high ratio of staff to children.
