                Our Staff

Montessori teachers are trained to recognise when a child is passing through a sensitive stage - when they are particularly interested in mastering a new skill. If these skills are taught at the right time, the child will soak up the information like a sponge and learning is a real joy. If this time is missed, learning becomes much more of a chore. It is the teacher’s intuitive sensitivity to the children, combined with their knowledge of the Montessori equipment which enables them to fulfill the child’s needs.

At Maidford, the staff are trained in the theory and practice of Montessori teaching, either by a professional body or in-house training. The Diploma is the highest of nursery qualifications. Staff continue to attend training sessions, keeping up-to-date with current practices and ideas. Our teachers have been chosen for their sensitive and caring natures and their all-important sense of humour.
