Culture
This area of our Montessori Classroom is where the children can immerse themselves in Geography, History, Science, Nature, Art, Music and
Movement.
In the Geography section, we look at the solar system, continents and oceans, exploring these areas through a wide range of materials which include a scale model of the solar system, globes and wonderful jigsaw puzzles of the continents.
Through our History materials, we introduce the concept of time. We work through the calendar, learning about days, weeks, months and seasons. And we look at time lines - of the individual child and of the world.

Science
Science is an area where the children are encouraged to carry out their own experiments, exploring many different ideas and materials - sinking and floating, magnets, light, air, even making their own volcanoes!
| Nature
The nature area covers life cycles of plants and animals and uses puzzles, books and other materials to encourage their understanding and exploration of these subjects. The children also enjoy bringing objects of interest into the nursery - baby bird eggshells,
feathers, snakes' skins, frog spawn, a first daffodil and any other delights that
they have discovered and would like to share with their friends.

Art, Music and Movement
Art,
music and physical activities provide wonderful opportunities to explore and
develop the children’s creativity. On occasions, we have a visiting artist,
musician, tennis coach and vicar helping the children.
